Norkfolk Southern Railway sued over employee’s alleged wrist injuries

A Norfolk Southern Railway Company employee claims he suffered a wrist injury due to negligent working conditions.

The lawsuit was filed in the Madison County Circuit Court by plaintiff Charles Johannigmeier against Norfolk Southern Railway Company.

According to the complaint, Johannigmeier worked as a switchman/conductor and an engineer during his employment with Norfolk Southern Railway. He claims that during his employment, he suffered injuries due to negligence on the part of the railway company.

The plaintiff claims the defendant failed to provide safe working conditions, adequate training, safety equipment, and protection from cumulative trauma among other allegations. The injuries he allegedly sustained have resulted in medical treatments, loss of wages and benefits, and impairment in work and life pursuits.

Johannigmeier is seeking damages in excess of $50,000.
