Metrolink Bistate Development sued after train collides with truck

A woman claims she was injured while riding on a Metrolink train when the train conductor ran into a truck.

Plaintiff Brenetta Raychelle Long filed the lawsuit in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against the Metrolink Bistate Development Agency.

According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff was a passenger on a train owned and operated by the defendant on Sept. 14, 2022. Long claims that at an intersection, the operator had sufficient time to stop the train to avoid a collision with a Ford F-150 truck. She alleges the train operator instead increased the train’s speed, according to the lawsuit. The driver allegedly left the scene of the collision before police arrived.

Long alleges that as a result of the crash, she experienced whiplash and injury to her spine. She adds that she has incurred medical expenses and will continue to require the services of medical staff to recover.

Long is representing herself pro se.
