Woman allegedly slipped on wet paint in McDonald’s parking lot

A woman claims she slipped on wet paint in the parking lot at an Alton McDonald’s.

Cheryl Snipes filed a complaint Dec. 10 in the Madison County Circuit Court against McDonald’s Corporation, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Snipes was at the McDonald’s restaurant on Homer Adams Parkway in Alton on March 9. She alleges that as she walked from her car to go into the restaurant, she slipped and fell on wet yellow paint that had recently been painted on the parking lot ground.

Snipes claims there were no warnings “indicating the yellow arrows were either wet, slippery or posed a risk.” She also claims “no reasonable person walking in a parking lot” would think the painted arrows on the ground were “slippery or dangerous.”

Snipes claims the defendants failed to “use reasonable care” to protect and warn customers coming onto the property.

Snipes seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000 and all other just relief.
