Pedestrian allegedly struck by O’Fallon police vehicle

A pedestrian is suing the City of O’Fallon Police Department claiming an officer hit her with his car in the Target parking lot.

Plaintiff Catherine Radliff filed the lawsuit in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against the City of O’Fallon Police Department and a police officer, citing Negligence.

According to the lawsuit, on Feb. 23, 2023, Radliff was a pedestrian in the parking lot of a Target store located in Shiloh when she was struck by a police vehicle during a routine police patrol.

The lawsuit alleges the officer was negligent by failing to operate his vehicle in a manner that would ensure the safety of pedestrians.

Radliff claims that as a result, she sustained bodily injuries which have caused her to experience disability, pain, suffering, emotional distress, and lost wages. She claims her injuries will impact her ability to enjoy normal life and earn income in the future. She adds that has incurred medical expenses and will continue to require the services of medical staff to recover.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs and any other relief the court deems proper.
