Mother sues dog owner after pit bull allegedly attacked her daughter

A woman is suing a dog owner after his unleashed pit bull allegedly attacked and injured her daughter.

Plaintiffs Anessa Bell and her minor daughter M. Johnson filed the lawsuit in the Madison County Circuit Court against defendant Aveon Jones, citing negligence.

According to the lawsuit, Johnson was jumping on a trampoline in the front yard of her aunt’s home on April 10 when she was suddenly and without warning attacked by the defendant’s pit bull, named “King.”

The lawsuit states that Jones was known to allow King to roam the neighborhood unleashed and unsupervised.

Johnson allegedly endured severe and permanent injuries to her face, which have caused her to suffer disfigurement, pain and suffering and mental anguish.

The plaintiffs are seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs and any other relief the court deems proper.
