Woman sues over icy slip, fall at Cahokia AutoZone

A customer claims she suffered injuries when she slipped and fell on ice at the Cahokia AutoZone Auto Parts store.

Robyn Bergman filed a complaint on Nov. 12 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against AutoZone, Inc doing business as AutoZone Auto Parts – Cahokia, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Bergman claims she was walking in the parking lot at the Cahokia AutoZone on Nov. 11, 2019, when she allegedly slipped and fell on ice. She alleges the ice accumulated on the concrete due to depressions, deviations and cracks that had allowed melting snow to gather and refreeze.

Bergman claims she was caused to suffer severe injuries, including a left tibial plateau fracture on her left keen. She also claims she incurred medical expenses, suffers continuing medical pain and lost the ability to engage in some normal activities.

Bergman seeks a sum in excess of $50,000, plus court costs and attorney’s fees.
