Truck driver allegedly hit tree when tire failed

A driver is suing a truck company alleging that a tire failed him while driving and caused a crash.

Commerce Tryst Company, as conservator and on behalf of the estate of Tony M. Carson, filed a complaint on April 1 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Tom Graddy Enterprises of St. Louis LLC doing business as Vanguard Truck Center of Cahokia, alleging negligence.

The suit states that the plaintiff was operating a truck on June 15, 2017 while driving when a tire on the truck failed and separated from the carcass of the tire, causing the plaintiff to drive into a tree.

The plaintiff is seeking more than $50,000, and costs of the suit as well as other relief deemed fit.
