Shopper sues Walmart over slip, fall at O’Fallon store

A shopper is suing Walmart after she allegedly slipped and injured herself in one of its O’Fallon stores.

Plaintiff Junee Larkin filed the lawsuit in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Wal-Mart Inc., doing business as Sam’s Club, citing negligence.

According to the lawsuit, on Aug. 17, 2022, Larkin was a patron in the electronics department at a store in O’Fallon owned by the defendant. Larkin claims that while she was on the premises, she slipped on a foreign substance on the floor and fell, severely injuring herself.

According to Larkin, the defendants negligently failed to properly maintain the premises to protect the safety of its customers.

Larkin alleges she suffered torn ligaments in her knee, requiring surgery. She claims her injuries have caused her severe pain, suffering and disability. The lawsuit states that Larkin has incurred medical expenses and will continue to require the services of medical staff to recover.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and any other relief the court deems proper.
