Shopper sues over fall at Alton Target

A shopper claims she injured her knee when she fell on a sticky substance at the Alton Target store.

Beva Walls filed the complaint on Dec. 11 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Target Corporation.

According to the complaint, Walls was shopping at the Alton Target store on Dec. 11, 2021. She claims she stepped on a sticky substance on the floor and fell, causing her to land on her right knee.

Walls alleges the defendant failed to exercise reasonable care to discover the condition, should have expected that a patron would not discover the danger, failed to warn of the sticky condition of the floor, and allowed the sticky condition to remain.

As a result, she alleges she suffered injuries to her right knee, endured pain and suffering and incurred medical expenses.

She seeks compensation in excess of $50,000, plus court costs.
