Patient alleges stroke symptoms were not properly diagnosed

A patient is suing Anderson Hospital, claiming a doctor failed to properly diagnose and treat his stroke symptoms.

Plaintiff John Gaskill has filed a lawsuit in the Madison County Circuit Court against defendants Christopher Lipsmeyer, M.D. and Anderson Hospital, citing negligence and carelessness.

According to the lawsuit, Gaskill was a patient at Anderson Hospital under the care of Lipsmeyer on March 27, 2021. Gaskill alleges that while he was under the care of the defendants, they failed to properly examine and treat his cerebrovascular symptoms, which caused him to suffer permanent injuries.

Gaskill claims that he has suffered permanent injury and pain, mental anguish and disability. He alleges his injuries have caused him to lose wages and will impact his ability to earn income and enjoy a normal life. Gaskill adds that his injuries have caused him to incur substantial medical expenses.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $75,000, plus court costs.
