Motorist sues truck driver over Pontoon Beach rear end collision.

A motorist claims he and his minor children were injured in a rear end collision in Pontoon Beach.

Marvin Moore filed a complaint Aug. 3 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Anthony Gillis and The Petroff Companies, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Moore claims he was driving on Illinois Route 111 near the entrance to Horseshoe Lake State Park in Pontoon Beach on March 20 when Gillis allegedly caused a rear end collision. Gillis was operating a Mack truck.

As a result of the collision, Moore claims he suffered injuries to his neck, legs, back, soft tissues, shoulder, muscles, ligaments, tendons and nerves, causing him to suffer disability.

Moore alleges Gillis was negligent for failing to keep a proper lookout, driving at an excessive speed and following his vehicle too closely. Gillis also alleges that as a result of his injuries, he has incurred medical treatment expenses for himself and for his minor children and suffered lost wages.

Moore seeks compensation of more than $50,000 and all other just relief.
