Motorist alleges wrong-way driver caused collision

A woman claims she was injured in a Shiloh collision caused by a wrong-way driver.

Tangula Brown filed a complaint on Sept. 26, in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Charles Tart alleging that the driver negligently operated his vehicle so as to cause it to collide with plaintiff’s vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 16, she was operating a vehicle traveling westbound on Lebanon Avenue in Shiloh when the defendant struck her vehicle.

She claims she sustained injuries to her back, neck and shoulder and was caused to suffer disability, medical expenses and lost wages.

The plaintiff holds Tart responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently drove his vehicle on the wrong side of the road and at an excessive speed, failed to maintain careful lookout and failed to properly apply brakes to avoid a collision.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of this action.
