Motorist alleges speeding driver caused rear-end collision

A motorist injured in a crash on Illinois 160 claims the other driver was speeding and following too closely to her vehicle as they approached an intersection.

Jamie Jung filed a complaint June 30 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Caleb M. Fields, alleging negligence.

According to Jung’s suit, she was driving her vehicle on Illinois160 near the intersection of Buckeye Road on Sept. 24, 2019. She alleges Fields collided with the rear of her car and caused her to suffer serious injuries.

Jung claims Fields was driving “at a high, dangerous and excessive rate of speed” and failed to keep his vehicle under control while following her vehicle too closely. She further claims Field was negligent for failing to brake or be “readily and reasonably” able to stop his car to avoid the collision.

Jung alleges that as a result of her injuries, she has suffered pain and incurred medical expenses.

Jung seeks compensation of more than $50,000, interest and all other proper relief.
